Murata Girl Bot Now on Unicycle of 2.5 cm Thin S-Curve

Murata girl bot Murata Girl Bot Can Now Unicycle on 2.5 cm Thin S Curve

Japanese Robot Performing random feats is a thing of the past now. Here’s an upgraded version of the Little Seiko humanoid robot for 2010 by Japanese electronics company Murata.

But this one is with a difference, a perfectionist you can say. Murata Girl, as she is fondly called, has a height of 50 centimeters and a weight of six kilograms. When Little Seiko was unleashed some two years back it created a splatter in the robotics industry since it was the first of its kind to unicycle forward and backward and also stop without falling over. Previously it could only ride across a straight balance beam, but the upgraded model can steer over an S-curve as thin as 2.5 centimeters.

Considering the fact that the tires of the unicycle are 1.5 centimeters thick, this is undeniably a tough job. Wonder how this is possible. Well the secret lies in the refined slant detection function and balancing system placed on the chest. This battery powered chick is equipped with camera and can be managed via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
