Some Apple customers may be lucky to get their hands on the iPhone 4 on Wednesday, a day early than scheduled delivery date. Apple has reportedly sent out shipment notification mails to customers who ordered the iPhone 4 for home delivery, notifying that the phone might arri
ve on Wednesday.
According to The Telegraph, dozens of people updated their Twitter accounts to say they had received their shipment email from Apple.
“W00T!! AT&T just updated my iPhone 4 pre-order status page with a tracking number and a ship date!,” tweeted one user, Brian J.
Apple mail says:
Dear Apple Store Customer,
You recently received a Shipment Notification email from Apple advising you that your iPhone has shipped.
This email is to confirm that your delivery will occur on June 23rd. Although Apple and FedEx tracking information may currently indicate a later date, you can check the FedEx website the morning of the June 23rd to track your package to your doorstep.
In the event that you will not be available to accept delivery on June 23rd, it may be more convenient to use our pre-sign delivery option by visiting our Order Status website at http://www.apple.com/orderstatus.
Last week, iPhone 4 pre-orders surpassed the sales of its earlier versions, so much so that Apple website crashed and many customers were left disappointed as the company ran out of its pre-order stock. Apple said, “Apple and its carrier partners took pre-orders for more than 600,000 of Apple’s new iPhone 4. It was the largest number of pre-orders Apple has ever taken in a single day and was far higher than we anticipated, resulting in many order and approval system malfunctions.”
The device is claimed to be the thinnest smartphone ever, with an all-new design and build quality like no other mobile device. Powered by Apple’s new A4 processor, iPhone 4 delivers seven hours of talk time on 3G networks, up to 10 hours of Web browsing on Wi-Fi and up to six hours on 3G, and up to 10 hours of video playback and up to 40 hours of audio playback.
