Reliance 4G tab to launch by end of 2012 with low cost data services

Reliance is going to launch 4G data services in India by 2012 end. Reliance Communications has revealed its plans to offer high-speed data services on tablets worth Rs 3,500 by the end of 2012.

These data cards were to be plugged into computers and laptops.People familiar with the matter have revealed that RIL plans to launch tablets at around Rs 3,500 and bundle it with data offering as low as 1 GB at Rs 10(a tenth of the current 3G prices) in INDIA.Reliance 4G tablet will be coming out with Qualcomm processor and 4G LTE services.

This kind of entry price could affect the business case for 3G for existing mobile operators, all of whom on an average offer 1 GB of download for Rs 100 at present. It is worth mentioning here that RIL is the only company to have pan-India spectrum to offer wireless broadband services on the 4G technology platform having paid Rs 13,000 crore for these airwaves.

RIL had already revealed its plans to launch services based on Qualcomm's Long Term Evolution,LTE technology which is currently in test phase.Global service providers like Vodafone, Verizon and Telenor have deployed LTE networks in some developed markets.
