vertical bamboo houses sport an intelligent blend of primitive and hi-tech look.
Brain behind this architectural design is Saint Val Architect and they see this Bamboo Housing as an exploration into a new housing typology that bids a good bye to the traditional square like homes. At the first sight this looks like a life-size craft project, but when you read further, you’d be surprised to know that this could be the future of housing spaces in the world.
Bamboo poles here are held together with the help of high tech metal “X” joints to create its exoskeleton. There are wooden slats and glass panels which curve up the exterior in a double helix to let get in and provide for healthy ventilation.
Design draws its inspiration from the traditional base tweaking mechanism and uses natural plant fibres from the local habitat to mold a cocoon shape.
