Qualcomm enters in the field of tablets

Qualcomm announced that its newest dual-core processor designed to compete in heated tablet market. The new processor from Qualcomm, Snapdragon APQ8060, is being used on the TouchPad, HP, revealed this week.

Chip arrives to face the products of Texas Instruments, and Nvidia, who have dominated the market in early 2011.

President of Qualcomm , said several companies signed contracts to use the new processor in more than 20 tablets.

Texas Instruments has announced its newest mobile processor, the OMAP five, plus a dual-core chip, which will be available for testing by manufacturers for tablet computers and cell phones in the second half of 2011.

Manufacturers have rejected the offerings of Intel’s mobile chips based on reduced versions of its chips for computers, which use more energy.

Intel plans to release improved versions earlier this year and reaffirmed their commitment to the portable device market.
