Apple have reported on a possible launch of iPhone 4 with our state owned mobile carrier BSNL soon. Now that being a part of it, India’s BSNL too was quick in its reflex and announced 3G plans for iPad, both prepaid and postpaid.
So the chances lean more towards the locked version as it does in the USA. There was also no comment on the pricing either but it appears that it would be quite cheaper and affordable than the ones offered by Vodafone and Airtel for iPhone 3GS.
Wall Street reported of Indian carriers Reliance and Tata Indicom following the same suit in India and the negotiation talks with Apple have already been started. Katy Hubert, Analyst of the company seems to prefer Reliance more.
When iPhone 3GS was launched in India it was priced 6 times higher here than it was in the USA market.
Steve Jobs has to certainly keep that in mind if he wishes to have a big market over here.
