Google has released Chrome 9 beta. Chrome 9 was previously in the dev channel as Chromium, but with Chrome 8 moving out of beta channel and getting a stable release, it was only a matter of time before Chrome 9 moved into the beta channel.
Chrome 9 also includes WebGL support by default. "WebGL is a new Web technology that brings hardware-accelerated 3D graphics to the browser without installing additional software," Nine Point Five, a 3D earthquake map by Dean McNamee; and Music Visualizer, a jukebox that synchronises 3D graphics to the beat of the music by Jacob Seidelin.
But the big news is, Google Instant has been integrated on the browser and needs to be enabled for use. "With Instant enabled, Web pages that you frequently visit will begin loading as soon as you start typing a URL in the omnibox," according to Pizano. If your default search engine is set at Google then you can even search using Google Instant right from your browser. You can enable it on the Basics tab of Chrome’s options.
Chrome 9 also gives you the option to create desktop shortcuts to your favourite Web apps from the new tab page and open Web apps in a new window.
