The all new 3G services by Ncell have now been launched at the base camp of Mount Everest, that will now enable the numerous climbers and expedition to let go of the insanely expensive satellite phones based communication services. The 3G service locate at an altitude of an incredible 8,850 meters (29,035 feet), at a place that is known to be the world’s tallest mountain. With this bold new venture, the residents of Khumbu valley, trekkers and mountaineers will be able to make use of highly affordable and reliable cellular service. Ncell, which is a prominent telecommunication network in Nepal is an amalgamation of TeliaSonera and a handful of adventurous investors.
TeliaSonera has also put plans in motion that call for a $100 million investment, thereby expanding the cellular network coverage to throughout Nepal, covering nearly 90% of the population residing the Himalayan region.
3G services, have for some time now been the backbone of global mobile communications, as this state of the art technology not only provides near flawless cellular connectivity, but also enables the users to enjoy high speed mobile Internet speeds, there by facilitating nearly all web based services that have traditionally been accessed by conventional computers. Now, a Nepalese telecommunication company called, Ncell, has taken the 3G services to the highest point on the planet, Mount Everest.
